“What to Do with the Dead” first appeared, in different form, in Shimmer #10 (March 2009); it was expanded and adapted into comics in collaboration with Rupert Bottenberg, for Lost Myths (August 2010); the prose version of the expansion first appeared in Nocturnes and Other Nocturnes (2013).
